Special Issue Information

This special issue focuses on functional urological disorders, a rapidly evolving subspecialty of urology that centers on urinary storage and voiding dysfunctions, which severely impair patients' quality of life. It covers a broad spectrum of conditions including overactive bladder, urinary incontinence, neurogenic bladder, interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome and pelvic floor dysfunction. The issue aims to collate cutting-edge research on pathophysiological mechanisms, innovative diagnostic techniques such as urodynamics, and evidence-based treatment strategies including behavioral therapy, pharmacotherapy, and minimally invasive interventions. By gathering contributions from global leading experts in functional urology, this special issue seeks to update clinical practitioners and researchers on the latest progress, bridge the gap between basic research and clinical application, and promote standardized diagnosis and treatment of functional urological disorders worldwide.
